You are just not going to believe this! I am just glowing with pride. Someone ( a very nice someone named Felicia) has taken the Faux Brick Video and turned it on it’s head. She has used the Faux Block Painting Technique from the Faux Brick Video and used it to compliment the faux block she already has in her room.

The problem with calling the video “Faux Brick” is that most viewers don’t get the idea that brick doesn’t have to be red… and the brick can be Block instead.

Everything you see here in these pictures is taught in the faux brick technique video… she just used her imagination and different paint colors to create this amazing room.

Even the walls that are distressed is taught in the video. So with this one video… a bit of time and creativity, just look what she has accomplished…

Hi Debra,

I apologize for not touching base with you until now. My husband found your website when I told him what I wanted to do to our boring white walls.

He purchased your Faux Brick Painting class (video) for me as a surprise. I want to tell you how easy your class(video) was and am delighted to tell you how much I enjoyed this project.

I am enthused about continuing to change all of my white walls into beautiful works of art.

Attached are some photos of the work I have done since I studied your course on Faux Painting Brick. I finished these walls in August 2007 and December 2007. I still have quite a bit I want to finish and will send you photos when I complete the next projects.

I have received so many compliments and job offers each time someone new sees my walls. I am a retired graphic designer and am finally doing something for myself.

Thank you so much, Felicia

Fake Brick BreakoutFirst time visitors to my home are taken aback by the transformation I have made to the walls. Right in the entry area are entire walls of brick. These are note the stick on brick… nor did I pay someone to install a brick wall.

No.. I painted them and they look like real old Chicago style brick… but is just created it with paint. I learned how to paint fake brick walls... and then (because it was such a resounding success) I now teach how to paint faux brick walls…

It’s funny how everyone is so amazed that the walls are just plain flat walls. I love it… because I know that I can just paint over them when I want to change the look and feel of this room. I don’t have to chip off any fake bricks or strip any wallpaper. Yuck.

And… it’s cheaper than any of those alternatives. I have to tell you that I am a cheap date. :o)

I admit that an entire wall of fake brick takes time... but it’s kind of therapeutic. After I got all the bricks drawn on to the wall… It was like fill in the blank coloring book style.

And the color is really cool. Yes… you can paint the walls a brick red and make a huge difference in your rooms character. But… if it looks like you have real chunky old bricks… it’s memorable!

Some rooms just can’t handle all that texture… but, some areas are just screaming for a new look.

Check out these pictures:

Yes… one house is more Spanish or Tuscan in style… and the other house is more country. But both are fake brick just painted on plain old vanilla walls.

I uploaded a portion of the video tutorial to Google Video and now I can display it on this website.

It’s cool to listen to a bit of my voice and see how close up the video is to the actual painting surface as I teach. I really do take you step by step through the entire process of learning how to paint fake brick on your walls.

Paint For Tuscan Dining Room

Restaurant’s are always a good way to get ideas for home decorating. This dining room used a great color combination in the choice of paint for Tuscan dining room.

Of course the fireplace is huge… and the ceiling tiles wouldn’t be my first choice for intimate dining. :)

But… the medium wood tones and red brown leather color of the chairs are good choices for Tuscan dining rooms.

The red brick above the fire place is easy to achieve with paint. Really.

Tuscan Dining Room Paint It doesn’t take much to create a warm, rustic environment for a Tuscany style dining area.

Bricks can be painting to look like your fireplace has an exposed brick chimney or they can be used on the walls combined with a faux finish… so they look like broken plaster with bricks peaking out.

The walls in a Tuscan Style room are usually… (not always) but usually painted in gold. This is just a standard in Old World Design. I try not to fight the trends…

Instead of a gold faux glaze or gold faux leather wall finish… I would love to see something even more distressed like this picture.

The layers and cracks are amazing.. and of course you can learn how to create the cracks and bricks with the Faux Brick Video.
